Dollar, euro, pound up in inter-bank trading

The US dollar started from where it had left the previous day as it grew stronger Tuesday after gaining 38 paisas in inter-bank rate.

But this depreciation wasn’t limited to the dollar as the rupee depreciated against the pound sterling and euro too in inter-bank trading.

And Tuesday’s inter-bank trading saw the world’s dominate currency ending the business day at Rs160.45.

Same was the case with euro which closed at Rs173.64 after gaining 42 paisas while the pound was up by 10 paisas and reached the level of Rs197.89.

As far as the open market is concerned, the dollar price increased by 50 paisas and closed at Rs160.50.

Meanwhile, the euro depreciated by 50 paisas and ended the day at Rs173 while the pound rate remained unchanged at Rs200.
